Riviere Dumoine

August 1 - 5, 2001

August 1st finally arrives! Scott at 4:30 AM.

The entire crew just prior to the drive to Swisha.

Arriving in Swisha with the lovely rental canoes.

I think we all packed a little too much gear.

The Beaver heads out for a warm up run.

Team Pawsey heading out.

Tying the canoe to the wing support.

Only one canoe and two people per trip.

View from the dock at Swisha.

Scott and Rob flew on the last trip.

Rob got shotgun. The glasses help hide the fear.

A view of our canoe. Sweet green #16.

Treetop Beaver shadow.

The Bradley Air Service dock at Swisha.

Looking back at the Ottawa River near Swisha.

Unknown river and bridge.

Cockpit and scenic view.

More airial scenery.

The Riviere Dumoine!

This is about 10 seconds before we touch down

About 1 second before touch down.

After we paddled away from the plane, the pilot tied...

up the ropes, took off and left us in the Canadian wilderness.

Derrik and Don on the second rapid of the trip.

Same rapid, just a few seconds later.

Mark and Graham on the second rapid.

Nick and Shawn on the second rapid.

This concludes the photos from day 1. Night 1 was spent at the campsite just below the "Canoe Eater" rapid. We had lots of time to swim and paddle around in the calm water near the campsite.
More photos to come! last Updated 8/20/01
